Everything Leads to You by Nina Lacour: Review

Hi Everyone! :)

Well, as you can tell I am reviewing Everything Leads to You by Nina Lacour. I have to say, I quite loved this book!

Synopsis:

A wunderkind young set designer, Emi has already started to find her way in the competitive Hollywood film world. Emi is a film buff and a true romantic, but her real-life relationships are a mess. She has desperately gone back to the same girl too many times to mention. But then a mysterious letter from a silver screen legend leads Emi to Ava. Ava is unlike anyone Emi has ever met. She has a tumultuous, not-so-glamorous past, and lives an unconventional life. She’s enigmatic…. She’s beautiful. And she is about to expand Emi’s understanding of family, acceptance, and true romance.

I loved how it had such a busy L.A. vibe to it and how you saw their maturity and their lack there of. For only being 18 they seemed to have a good mix of both, nowadays that is hard to come by. Emi and Charlotte really seemed to know what they wanted out of life and could still openly talk about their own character flaws which is a trait most older adults don't even have.

Nina Lacour's writing style was spot on! She captured the true essence of what this book was all about.

I love how the main character, Emi, is a lesbian and no one makes a big fuss about it. No one in her life cares, so it isn't the important aspect of the book.

The other topic that isn't in the forefront and is only mentioned once is that she is 1/4 black. It isn't made a main topic at all. To be totally honest, I didn't even know until it was mentioned.

The story behind this book is good too. Not all of it but a lot of what happens, can happen to many teenagers. It is sad and should never have to happen, but unfortunately the world has a million flaws.

Trust me when I say, read this book! It is very good!

Have a wonderful week! :)
